PSYCHODYNAMIC THERAPY

Psychodynamic Therapy in Los Angeles

Have you ever reacted in a way that surprised you, or found yourself in the same relationship pattern again and again? Psychodynamic therapy helps you understand not just what you do, but why, so real change becomes possible.

WHAT IS IT?

What Is Psychodynamic Therapy?

Psychodynamic therapy looks beneath the surface at unconscious patterns, early relationships, and past experiences. These often shape how you think, feel, and relate to others today, without you realizing it.

THE PROCESS

How Psychodynamic Therapy Works

  • Exploring your early experiences. We look at how early relationships shaped the patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships today.

  • Making the unconscious conscious. Old, automatic reactions become something you can see, understand, and choose differently.

  • Using our relationship as a mirror. Noticing what shows up between us can reveal patterns that also show up in your other relationships.

  • Getting to the root. By connecting present struggles to their origins, change goes deeper than managing symptoms.

Psychodynamic therapy can help with repeating relationship patterns, trouble with trust or intimacy, chronic shame or guilt, and a diminished sense of self. It's especially meaningful if you grew up with emotional unpredictability or had to take care of others too young.

Sessions are open and exploratory. You're welcome to bring whatever is on your mind, and together we'll notice the themes and connections that emerge over time.
