My first priority is our relationship, and building trust and safety in the room. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and use a trauma-informed, culturally competent lens — recognizing your right to make your own choices about what we work on, while staying mindful of resistance that might benefit from some curiosity and attention. I'm also aware of my own personal and cultural biases, and I make an ongoing effort to understand, respect, and educate myself on cultural differences.

I take a holistic approach that addresses both mind and body. I'm empathetic, honest, and direct, and I believe that small, consistent changes can lead us to a profoundly different place.

When we begin to recognize and acknowledge our feelings, patterns, behaviors, and the internalized messages that shaped false beliefs — meeting them with curiosity and compassion instead of judgment and shame — we start to allow ourselves the support that was so often missing. From there, we can begin to release the pain and shame that was never ours to carry.

I also believe healing happens in the present, through disconfirming experiences — when we feel fully accepted, we can begin to accept our full selves. Healing also happens through engaging in healing behaviors, so connecting with joy matters just as much as releasing pain, and I encourage both. And as I'm not a "blank slate" therapist; I may express my own emotions, while keeping the focus of our sessions on you.
